I am a proud Oakland native. I am a mother of two beautiful yet exasperating boys. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am a gardener. My practice was planted 20 years ago when I began working with children, adults, couples and families who were experiencing significant traumas and stress in their relationships, communities, homes, hospital/clinic and work/school environments.
I am very passionate about serving people. I listen, observe and use various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Relational - Cultural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Play Therapy, the Gottman Method among a few other modalities. I also completed the Napa Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship to support my work with pregnant and parenting families. My goal is to help you increase your awareness and acceptance of emotional experiences and develop effective coping skills in order to adapt, evolve your distress tolerance as well as effectively articulate your needs and boundaries for emotional, physically and spiritual safety in your relationships.
In a nutshell it is to help you take care of your roots so that you can grow, evolve and thrive. What I know for sure, a seed can't grow if the soil is struggling to attain the necessary nutrients to root and grow.
