Dr. Reed is a licensed psychologist with over 10 years in the mental health field. She holds a Doctor of Psychology degree with an emphasis area in the Multicultural Community from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP-LA). Dr. Reed is a longtime proponent of advocacy work for communities of color. She previously taught doctoral, master, and bachelor level students enrolled in programs for Marriage Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Human Development, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, and Criminal Justice. Dr. Reed has worked in numerous governmental institutions while assisting in the quest with rehabilitating offenders and providing effective practices for the reentry process.
Beyond her background in law enforcement psychology, Dr. Reed has worked with everyone from those who have high profile lifestyles, individuals with trauma histories, couples, geriatrics, foster youth, the formerly incarcerated, and those with severe and chronic mental conditions. She has provided outreach and workshops with topics promoting higher education, women’s empowerment, Christian counseling, diversity issues, and race within the correctional system. She is committed to working with individuals and couples to assist with building and creating healthy dialogue while promoting self-efficacy within those who come from communities of color. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Ubuntu Psychological Services, which empowers women and couples in overcoming emotional obstacles which keep them stuck in unhealthy cycles.
