Bledman Psychological Services, LLC provides individual, group and couples therapy to a diverse population of clients. All clinicians are specially trained in working with diverse populations and marginalized communities. Expertise include diversity issues, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, sexual assault recovery, LGBTQIA+ concerns, chronic health, identity concerns and much more. Along with clinical work, therapists are involved in national organization, teaching, and community service. Therapists in the practice are available for consultation, workshops, and clinical supervision.

Bledman Psychological Services therapists use collaborative approaches to highlight strength and resilience while assisting clients in learning to manage
depression, anxiety, body image dissatisfaction, eating disorders, racial trauma, and interpersonal relationship difficulties. The therapists in the practice have particular expertise in working with sexual assault survivors and helping navigate through the healing process. Many have training and expertise in working with diverse populations, women's issues, religion/spirituality, racial/ethnic identity, sexual orientation identity development, queer issues and gender identity.

Dr. Rashanta Bledman brings warmth, genuineness, empathy, sincerity and humor to her clinical interactions. She believes we benefit from a welcoming place of acceptance and non-judgment, and strives to provide this for all clients. Dr. Bledman values all aspects of identity and works to ensure a safe and multiculturally competent space. Dr. Bledman's clinical work is not only influenced by empirical research, but also by her experiences as a first-generation, Black/Caribbean-American woman.

Dr. Bledman received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia (MIZZOU). Her research and collaborations have been published in the Handbook of Counseling Psychology and several psychological journals, including the Journal of Black Psychology. Dr. Bledman's practice and scholarship have been recognized by The American Psychological Association and the University of Maryland President's Commission on Women's Issues.
