Autism/ADHD assessments offered at a reasonable fee (sliding scale).

I am a Black, AuDHD, cishet woman from a multiply disenfranchised background specializing in support for Black, brown, indigenous, queer and trans people who have traditionally needed access to resources and been denied. I have worked in the field of psychology since 2002 and am passionate about helping individuals, families/couples achieve more connection, insight and awareness. I have concentrated experience working with historically marginalized groups, formerly incarcerated people, people with sexual trauma and people struggling with racial trauma/discrimination. I provide direct, compassionate feedback to help with goal achievement and/or accommodations for neurodivergent needs.

I believe that most of us were raised by caretakers who did not teach us the skills we needed to have healthy relationships and that trauma was likely passed down generationally. Therapy will focus on setting healthy boundaries, assertive communication, conflict resolution and recognizing unhealthy relationship patterns. We will also examine intergenerational trauma and messages internalized about skin color/shade (colorism), hair texture (texturism) and body type.

In therapy, I tend to focus on family of origin/early attachments to help people with healthy adult relationships. I tend to believe that most of us have suffered attachment wounds and/or intergenerational trauma impacting the way we move through the world. I also tend to believe that we are largely impacted by systemic oppression, rather than personal or moral failings. I believe that most of what has been labelled the "psychopathology" of an individual is actually a direct result of systemic harm due to capitalism, racism, ableism and all forms of othering. We can easily become "sick" or "disabled" in a world that is not accommodating or fails to see us as equals.

In additional to providing therapy, I provide assessments for autism and ADHD. My goal is to provide neuroaffirming resources and accommodations to people who've been traditionally left out of the data. As a late diagnosed neurodivergent, I recognize that many of us were denied the ability to be assessed, diagnosed or to have access to the resources we needed in early life. I would like to change this by providing assessments to women, adult people of the global majority, queer and trans people.
