I help Black women & women of color heal from how past trauma has affected your current relationships with yourself & others: Attachment Trauma in childhood; Adjustment to Motherhood & Maternal Mental Health; Codependence & Perfectionism. Women are the backbone of our families, workplaces, and communities, but what happens when you can no longer keep up? Do you have success in most areas of life, but make the same mistakes in relationships? Trying to be perfect & please everyone, but your own needs are unmet? You can be strong and receive help at the same time. You do not need to be a ‘Strong’ Black Woman. Use your strength to show up for yourself first and be there for others. Allow yourself to be imperfect, be your authentic & genuine self. My passion is helping you begin the journey of healing from past trauma and move toward Wholeness and Wellness your life.
Trauma is healed within relationships. Healing from trauma requires us to tell our story, which is a powerful tool in your healing. A new story can help you develop an objective perspective on your experience & reflect on your experience, develop self-compassion, and develop ways of interacting with others and yourself. Within the counseling relationship we will move through the proven phases of trauma recovery. Wholeness, means re-integrating the parts of yourself (mind, body, spirit, & soul). Ultimately, the goal is for you to develop skills to manage your emotions and make healthier decisions in your life.
Being a doctorate-level trauma informed counselor has provided me with a unique perspective in balancing science & art of counseling. Specialized training includes: Attachment & Trauma, Advanced Perinatal Mental Health (Postpartum support international), Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) informed.
