Psychotherapy is a transformative experience that empowers you to explore your inner self in an affirming and nonjudgmental environment. This collaborative process involves us working together to navigate challenges and foster personal growth in a way that is uniquely tailored to your needs. I will accompany you on a journey of deep introspection into your thoughts and emotions, aiming to enhance your understanding of yourself, your patterns, and your potential for positive change. Ultimately, psychotherapy is a powerful tool for navigating life's complexities, fostering empowerment, and facilitating genuine, lasting transformation.
As a Jamaican immigrant raised in multi-cultural and multi-ethnic spaces, I am very interested in the intersection of different ways of being and how culture and socio-political factors influence how we move through the world. As a queer Black cis-woman, I am particularly dedicated to creating and maintaining space for those voices and experiences often disregarded and invalidated by society. My mission is to provide empathetic and culturally sensitive support that honors each individual's unique identities and challenges.
I adopt an integrative approach, drawing from a spectrum of theories. Doing so allows me to create a personalized treatment plan for my clients. Psychodynamic Therapy and Multicultural Psychology are at the core of my practice. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), spirituality, culture, & the broader sociopolitical factors into my work with clients.
I often work with older adolescents, adults, professionals, people of color, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community. Issues addressed include depression, anxiety, identity development, self-esteem, life changes, relationships, and experiences of marginalization.
